Jaguar’s legal fight with a Shoreditch bar

Jaguar has managed to transform its image and product range into the 21st century – they sell awesome cars (the XJ is amazing), host great events (Salon Privé and sponsoring of Clerkenwell Design week) and are part of British culture. But now they launch legal proceedings at the Intellectual Property Office against Shoreditch arts collective Jaguar Shoes (they sell neither cars nor shoes by the way).

What do you think? Does this bar damage Jaguar’s reputation? Should the bar be forced to change its name? Jaguar Shoes launched a petition to support their point of view. Courts are said to decide on the case in about three weeks.
